Terms of Use
Last updated: October 20, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of QR Generator, the app for iPhone and Android listed as "QR Generator—Fast Code Maker" on the App Store and on Google Play (the "app").
The app is provided by Wellcode S.r.l.s., Via Reggio 5/A, 42015 Correggio (RE), Italy, VAT no. IT02956860353 ("Wellcode", "we", "us"). By using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
1. What the app does
QR Generator reads QR codes and the most common barcodes, with the camera or from a picture in your library, and creates QR codes for a web address, a text or a Wi-Fi network. You can save the codes you scan or create on your device, copy their content and share them as images.
The app is free. It has no account, no ads and no in-app purchases. If we ever add paid features, what they cost and include will be shown in the app before you buy, and these Terms will be updated first.
2. Codes made by others
The codes you scan are made by other people, and their content is theirs: we do not create, check or control it. A code can lead to a website that is fraudulent or harmful, for example one that imitates a bank or a parking payment page to steal your details. The app shows you the content of a code before doing anything with it, and opens a web address only when you tap Open; it does not check whether an address is safe. Look at the address before opening it, and be wary of codes stuck over other codes or found in unexpected places.
3. Codes you create
You are responsible for what you put in the codes you create and for where you use them. Before printing or publishing a code, scan it to check that it works and leads where you expect: we cannot guarantee that every reader, printer or screen will read it, or that the content you typed is correct.
A Wi-Fi code contains the network's password in a form anyone can read with a phone. Share it only with people you want on that network, and only for networks you are entitled to share.
4. Your content
The codes you create and save remain yours. They are kept on your device, and we do not collect them or use them for any purpose (the Privacy Policy describes the rare case of an error report). When you share a code, it goes to the app or person you choose, under their terms.
5. Who can use the app
The app is suitable for all ages. If you are under the age at which you can accept these Terms where you live, a parent or guardian must accept them on your behalf.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app for anything unlawful, or put into a code content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others;
- create codes meant to mislead or defraud people, for example by leading them to a fake website;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or decompile the app, except to the extent the law expressly allows it;
- resell the app or use it to build a competing product.
7. Our rights
The app, the QR Generator name and logo, and everything we create for the app belong to Wellcode or to its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app on the devices you own or control, in line with these Terms and with the rules of the store you downloaded it from. The codes the app creates are yours to use, including for commercial purposes.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the app without owing you anything for it. "QR Code" is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
8. Third-party services
The app hands content to others when you ask it to: your browser, or the app that handles the address, when you open a web address; the app you pick when you share a code; and the App Store or Google Play when you rate the app. Their own terms apply, and we are not responsible for services and websites we do not operate.
9. Availability and changes to the app
Scanning and creating codes work without an internet connection; opening a web address needs one. We work to keep the app working, but we cannot promise that it will always read every code or be free of errors. We may change, add or remove features, or decide to discontinue the app.
10. Liability
The app is provided free of charge and "as is", with the care that can reasonably be expected from a small software company. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for loss of profit, for the loss of codes saved on your device, for the content of codes made by others or the websites they lead to, or for codes you create that do not work or contain mistakes.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law — including the rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
11. Ending the relationship
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it, which also deletes the codes saved in it. We may stop providing the app to you if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if we are required to by law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will publish the new version on this page with its date. If the changes are significant, we will also tell you in the app before they take effect. If you do not agree with the new Terms, you can stop using the app.
13. Apple App Store
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
- these Terms are between you and Wellcode, not Apple. Wellcode, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price, if any; to the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation;
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or claims that it infringes the intellectual property rights of a third party;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you;
- you confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts of the place where you live. Otherwise, the courts of Reggio Emilia, Italy, have exclusive jurisdiction.
If something goes wrong, please write to us first: most problems can be solved quickly that way.
